There is not much to like about American Idol after eight years but if there is one reason to watch American Idol this season, it would be for Scott MacIntrye.

Scott was the last one to audition on the premier of American Idol on 1/13/09 and he stands out above the others. I know it is to early to make any final predictions who will go all the way to the May finale but I am standing behind him.

Scott is almost blind and has learned to play the piano, his vision only allows him to see one key at a time and he can play classical music and hit all the notes, he came to the audition and his voice was amazing, it was beautiful to listen to.

I think that I am more impressed by him than his musical talents because he goes skiing and he does other things and he does not let his blindness stop him and when he speaks, he is very confident and he does not want people to feel sorry for him.

If there is one reason to watch American Idol this season, it is because of him and to see just how far he can go. I look forward to him playing the piano on stage and getting the chance to sing at the same time. I think if you hear the combination together, that it will be almost hard not to cry at the end of his performance.

He was very mellow and very level headed at the audition, and something else to note about him is that he went to college at the age of fourteen. I hope he makes it all the way to the finale and wins it. American Idol has been missing something in the past few years and after tonight I know it was someone like Scott MacIntyre.

Eight years ago American Idol set out to find undiscovered talent and somewhere along the way the show got lost and ended up with people like Sanjay, after seeing Scott this is what American Idol is suppose to be, finding the newest and best undiscovered talent and I do not think the judges made the wrong decision for moving him along in the competition.

In fact. I think the judges got it right after a lot of misses. I do not enjoy American Idol anymore but Scott has given me a reason to watch this season and I will probably not watch it if he is eliminated somewhere in the competition. I hope he is not eliminated and I hope he does win American Idol this season.

I probably am given this guy a lot of praise for those of you who have not seen his performance yet but if you get a chance to see one of his performances this season. I think you will see why I am standing behind this guy this season.
