Gift items that are of particular fascination to the two, three, or four year old boy are animals, dinosaurs, and monster trucks. If the gift they receive can move, make noise, or be used to construct something with, then it is a gift that will hold their interest. Although preschool boys of 2, 3, and 4 years of age are developing at a very rapid pace both physically and mentally, they will return to play with the same toys or articles, time and time again.

One of the most traditional and time proven gift ideas for young boys are toy trucks and toy cars. These vehicles seem to hold a fascination for boys, regardless of their age, and 2, 3, 4 year old boys are no exception to this rule. They can spend hours playing with them. Road themed mats, garages, storage boxes and other accessories to accompany their vehicle collection are always great gift choices. Books or games in a vehicle theme are also very popular items for the two, three, or four year old boy. Although clothing or outerwear is not usually very exciting to these young boys, if it has a monster truck or some other famous vehicle theme scrawled across its fabric, then it is an exciting gift for the 2, 3, or 4 year old boy to receive.

Building blocks are another gift choice that just seems to be a timeless favorite for boys.
