Do you find it hard to figure out your valentine? Do you get frustrated at another Valentine's Day rolling around and you remember how indifferent your recipient was last year? Make sure you are speaking to their favorite of the five senses: sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell.
Some people are sensitive to words. They are not mind readers, body language experts or good guessers. You've heard that words can hurt as much as sticks or stones. Words can be very seductive, just think of all the poetry and love songs out there! Write a letter to them about what they mean to you. Simply taking the time to call your loved one in the middle of the day when you think about them can speak volumes of love to them. It's words they are hungry for, not chocolate.
It is said that a newborn needs physical touch to survive. So it goes with a relationship. From hand holding to a good back rub, physical touch is what this valentine needs the most. It can be as simple as holding hands during a movie or finding out how to give a real massage that seals the deal on this heart. I assure you, they will hear you loud and clear as you work that knot out of their shoulder!
Words are just words to some, especially someone that has been hurt by words. These people that need to see the love, desire or crush. They are the ones that believe that what you do speaks much louder than what you say. A simple task done without asking or having eyes only for your date in a crowded room shouts, "I care for only you!" It could be fixing dinner or fixing that sound the car has been making, they need to see you care.
Then there are those with a heightened sense of taste and fragrance. These are the ones that Valentine's Day seemed to be created for.
The tasters are the chocoholics, foodies or wine buffs. They squeal when that heart shaped box is presented in all its pink satin glory. You will have no problem finding a particular wine or food that promises aphrodisiac qualities for these loved ones. They love breakfast in bed, chocolate covered strawberries and intimate dinners with wines to match each course.
Equally, the people who love fragrances are target customers for Valentine merchants. From bountiful bouquets of roses and lilies, to tiny crystal bottles holding fragrance in liquid form are what they desire for Valentine's. Be it a box of long stemmed crimson beauties or perfume that hints of lingering kisses, fragrance is one of the key senses for memories. Why not take them to a perfumery and have a one-of-a-kind scent created just for them?
Still clueless? Take a step back and watch how your intended shows you love. Do they leave notes, cookies or give great back rubs? Maybe they like to keep scented candles glowing or are always cooking up something fantastic in the kitchen. Be advised, either this is usually the way they'd like to be indulged, or they've got the jump on you and have already figured out your favorite way to feel loved!
