We all want to save money and we all want our hard work in the kitchen to last. The FoodSaver promises to delivery both of these expectations. The FoodSaver has been around for over 10 years and has been purchased by thousands of customers. The reviews have been balanced on both sides of the table from those customers.

The FoodSaver's newest model offers smart seal technology that can detect and extract air in the bag. This product offers multi-layered bags to help protect against freezer burn. The new model has a new sleek appearance. This product offers a recipe booklet and starter kit for around $160.00. To order more bags you have an option of buying a plastic roll to create custom sized bags or pre-measured sized bags starting around $10.00 per order.

The FoodSaver promises to take all the work out of food storage and help save families an average of $600.00 a year in wasted food. This figure may be impossible to determine for each individual household. Many people have reported that the older model of the FoodSaver will at first extract all the air from the bags only to have it leak air back in later. This new model has promised to have fixed this issue.

Perhaps one of the newest competitors to FoodSaver is the Reynolds vacuum seal system that is available in stores today. This is a hand held model that extracts the air from the special purchased bags and promises to keep food longer in the freezer with out the fear of freezer burn. By far this is a cheaper model running only $20.00 in most retail stores. This is a more convenient appliance due to the availability and compact size. Reynolds has many sized bags available as well as the custom roll to create your own bag sizes.

For a beginner wanting to save money on freezer storage the Reynolds solution may better benefit your pocket book. Coupons have been made available to cut the costs even more. The Reynolds company has taken great steps to help the consumer save money and food with their new vacuum seal device. The Reynolds company stands behind their product and has a satisfaction guarantee.

One complaint about the Reynolds vacuum seal system is that it does not properly seal soupy or liquid foods. If you are deciding that you will be freezing a great deal of liquid foods than you may want to consider the FoodSaver over the less expensive Reynolds model.

Another vacuum food storage system is the Freshvac product line. This product is not a bag product. Freshvac carries a line of different sized bowls with lids that have a vacuum seal device built into the lining of the lid. This product will take up more room than the bag systems; however it is perfect for liquid freezing. The bowls can go from the freezer to the microwave and promise to have a leak free seal for carrying from home to office. This product is also available in retail stores.
