Yuwie is a basic social networking site, that pays it's users a percentage of the advertising profit that it creates. The payouts are calculated based on the number of page views. A user get credit for every page that they view for longer than three seconds, and for anyone that views their profile, Blog, or pictures for more than three seconds. Yuwie also pays you for the page views that your referrals and your referrals' referrals up to ten levels.

Like most other social networks Yuwie offers the ability to customize your profile page, write blogs, create groups, send messages to your friends, etc. It is not as user friendly a Myspace or Facebook, and a little HTML knowledge is definitely a plus if you plan on joining the Yuwie community. However, because of the importance of page views, most Yuwie users seem to be much friendlier than users on Myspace and are more than willing to add you as their friend. Most Yuwie users have the same goal, to drive up the page views. The method that has the most potential to increase a users page views is by getting referrals. Getting referrals seems to be like telemarketing, some people seem to have a gift for it, while others have a very hard time with it.

The easiest way to do to increase page views is by adding friends and sending them your comments. Every Yuwie user seems to have their own strategy for increasing page views. Many Yuwie users even dedicate much of their blogs to tips about increasing Yuwie page views and getting referrals. Another popular Yuwie blog topic is ways to make money on the internet. This is most likely; because it was the promise of money making opportunity that brings most people to Yuwie in the first place. This common theme also holds true for the Yuwie clubs, the most popular clubs are friend adders, followed by clubs that give advice about increasing Yuwie page views, and clubs that advertise other money making opportunities. Yuwie pays its users once per month assuming you have accumulated the minimum five dollars ion your account. In order to receive payment you will need to have a Pay Pal account.

There are two disadvantages to using Yuwie. The first is the large number of advertisements. This is particularly annoying when you are waiting for a page to load. The second is that it is not as functional as other more popular social networking sites like MySpace or Facebook. On the other hand MySpace and Facebook do not pay their users for social networking.
