One of the best kitchen products on the market that will always have a use is the George Foreman Grill. Personally I have used a few different models as well as some of the "off brand" competition in this line of grills. From personal experience the knock off grills do not compare with the Foreman in usage, taste, and ease of cleaning the product. Having a Foreman Grill on the counter is a must have for those meals where one wants a quick, easy, and healthy solution for their famly.
There is a smaller model grill which is perfect for a newlywed or college student. It holds aproximately two good sized hamburgers, steaks, chicken, and other meats. If you have a bigger family you will not like this size of grill. It would mean standing in the kitchen for a half hour or more to make enough meat to feed everyone. For a family I recommend the family grill. It will hold approximately four to seven meats depending on the size of the meat you are grilling.
Always make sure you use your drip pan when cooking with this grill. It catches all the excess juices and is very easy to clean. Just toss in the dishwasher after you dump the juice. It is recommended to use the top rack of the dishwasher for this item to insure that it cleans easily without getting damaged. To clean your grill let it cool down and then take a rag and wipe clean with some hot water. Do not use abrasive pads or scrubbers to clean or you will risk scratching the grills surface.
As for durability, I have used the small Foreman grill for over six years without any problems. By taking care of the product after a meal, it will easily last for many years.
The meat cooks throughly on this grill. Never second guess whether the meat is done in the middle or not. This grill keeps it juicy inside as well. Since the fat juices are draining off during the cooking process, the meat will be much healthier. For a person who suffers from stomach problems when food is greasy or fatty this grill can help insure less pains after eating. Packaged with your grill you will find a booklet with care instructions and some sample recipes.
Some of our favorite Foreman recipes are very simple and easy to do. One of the things I do with meats I am going to be tossing on the Foreman is marinate them in Italian dressing for an hour or so beforehand. This puts an excellent flavor in the meat, and while the excess juices cook out of it, is a little extra insurance that you meat will not dry out completely. I also use Emeril's Seasoning over the meat generously and just toss on the grill when I am in a hurry for a quick, satisfying meal.
