Chicken is taste-tested, versatile and simple second course to prepare and can be made in so many ways using lots of different ingredients, herbs, spices and condiments you already have in your kitchen. It doesn't take much to whip up an elegant chicken dish. For your next healthy and hearty dinner, try some quick and new, super-simple chicken recipes, made with a bit of salt and pepper and five ingredients or less.
LEMON CHICKEN
Perhaps the easiest chicken to prepare is one delicately infused with the fresh, summery taste of lemon. To prepare this, you'll need some chicken breasts and:
*a lemon
*a bit of flour
*extra-virgin olive oil
Lightly coat your chicken breasts in flour, and let them sautee them in two tablespoons of olive oil. When a paste begins to develop, squeeze the juice of one lemon over the chicken. Salt and pepper to taste.
CHICKEN WRAPPED IN PROSCIUTTO AND SAGE
This recipe idea sounds complicated, but to make this highly presentable dish all you really need are chicken fillets or breasts along with:
*some long strips of prosciutto
*a few sage leaves
*half a glass of white wine
*extra virgin olive oil
To begin, lay out a flat, thin, piece of chicken on a cutting board. Cover the chicken with one long prosciutto strip and one sage leaf. Roll the chicken piece until it forms a log, and hold the roll in place with a sturdy toothpick. Heat a skillet with two tablespoons of olive oil and let the chicken rolls brown. Halfway through cooking, stir in the white wine, letting it evaporate. Salt and pepper to taste. Remove the toothpicks and serve.
CHICKEN WITH ONIONS
You don't really need chicken breasts for this one as any type of chicken will do. Along with your chicken pieces what you will need is:
*a glass of vegetable broth
*three white onions
*extra virgin olive oil
Heat up your pan with the oil. Add the onions and let them cook a minute or two, until translucent, but not golden. Pour in half the broth slowly, then add the chicken breasts, letting them cook uniformly. Stir in the other half of the broth, letting it evaporate. Salt to taste, and top with fresh, ground pepper before serving.
PARMESAN CHICKEN
This recipe is ideal for chicken breasts but also works with various chicken pieces. To make this you will require:
*grated parmesan cheese
*dried oregano
*some flour
*extra virgin olive oil
Heat your skillet with a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. Lightly flour the chicken and brown each side in the oil.
