There are more than 250 million cars in the United States, and the demand for good used cars means there is an opportunity to buy and sell cars for a profit. With tough economic times, you can make money as people sell cars they can no longer afford. You can then turn around and sell used cars to buyers who need new vehicles but don't want to spend the big bucks for a new vehicle.
The process seems simple, but to do it successfully time and time again takes knowledge of how to buy and sell cars at a profit. Smart car sellers know that their money is made before they ever advertise the car for sale. It's the same secret to making money in the stock market or anywhere else. To make money, you have to buy low and sell high.
New-car dealers know the secret to making by money selling used cars. When you trade in your used car at a dealer, the low price the dealer offers seems like an insult. If you go back to the dealer's lot a week later, your trade-in will be sitting there with a price on the window that will make you weep. But someone else will come along and pay that inflated price, never knowing the difference. People are willing to pay good money for good used cars.
With the right knowledge, you can buy cars at low prices and sell them at a profit. It's totally up to you how much money you make. You can control your own financial destiny. Decide how much profit you'll make with each transaction. You can be your own boss. By knowing the secrets, you can make money like a dealer.
Start your new business by finding the right cars to sell. Pay attention to what people in your area drive on a regular basis. That can be your first clue in deciding which car to buy. Or, think about the vehicles you've personally owned. If there's one you had a good experience, find one like it. You'll be able to give good information to the people who are going to buy a car from you.
There are a number of places to find good used cars at reasonable prices. Search your local newspapers and auto-related Web sites such as AutoTrader.com and Cars.com.
Another good source of used cars to sell for a profit is Craigslist.org This is often a good place to find cheaper used vehicles, say under $5,000 or so. Advertising on Craigslist.org is free, so people are more likely to sell cars that cost less. Often private party sellers aren't looking to make profit. They just want to get out from under car payments or get rid of a car they no longer need.
Look for words like "motivated seller", "need to
