Is there a better way to pamper yourself at home for a night on the town than to start with a bubble bath? The water is running and that lovely fragrance fills the bathroom while you light some candles to create a restful atmosphere.
How about a facial? You could cleanse your face first then follow with toner. Apply your face mask before slipping into that inviting tub. Taking a deep breath, inhale all the cares of your day and exhale them by breathing out slowly. Taking another deep breath to inhale any aches and weariness, dispose of them on your next slow out-breath. Your final slow breathing exercise empties your mind of all thought. Relax.
Do you have a body lotion that matches the scent of your bubbles? Here you can extend the benefits of your foamy fantasy a little further. Look at your face after the mask is removed. Look at that glow. Feel how soft your skin is.
Tempted to make your feet and toenails look good? This is something you should not resist. Indulge yourself with your prettiest pastel or hottest shade. Nail polish can match or set your mood and strike the tone of the evening.
Sitting down and relaxing with your favorite herbal tea will enhance your state of tranquility. You may like to review the expectations for your night on the town at this time. Reflective contemplation and anticipation will add flavor to your "me-time" activities.
What about your hair? Do you need to curl or straighten it? Will you be using any accessories? A dress rehearsal and practice for your hairdo will give you direction and confident, stress-free styling when you're dressing for your night out. Experiment. try something different.
For that expensive, "salon" ambiance you could burn some aromatic oil and play some meditative music. Notice how easy it is to give yourself a manicure when you are in this tranquil frame of mind? Your nails are shaping beautifully; cuticles slide back gently without breaks or cuts. See how steadily your hand applies the brush strokes as your fingernails are transformed into objects of enameled wonder.
Lie down while your nails are drying. Elevate your feet. Enjoy the moment. Close your eyes. Inhale the redolence of the warming oil. Feel the music wash over you in ever-cascading ripples of serenity. Let your spirit seek and soar to new heights. Allow your spirit to return slowly and gently: restored, refreshed, renewed.
