Springworld Challenge is a disappointment in almost every possible way. Between poor graphics and awful game play this stinker of a game should be put to rest in a shallow grave. Players will want their hour back after wasting time with this game.
This game offers nothing in the way of a story; players just start moving cars and rocket ships through obstacle courses. The obstacle courses could be considered challenging, but that has less to do with the course difficulties and more to do with the abhorrent lack of control players have over the vehicles. Players will find themselves spinning their rocket ships around wildly and constantly flipping their cars over every hill they try to climb.
Much more creative games with much better control over the vehicles were being made fifteen years ago. The obstacle courses offer very little to differentiate themselves from one another and even less in the way of new challenges. The only challenge, in fact, is trying get your vehicle to do what you want it to do.
From the very second players start playing the game it will be painfully obvious that not much time was spent on making a game that is "cutting-edge". Springworld Challenge looks like a game that could very well have come out in the eighties. The rocket ships are more or less triangles with a thrusters attached to the back end and to the sides. There is only one type of car, though it does change from a red car to a green car and back again as players progress through the game.
The music may be the one redeeming quality this game has to offer. Springworld Challenge has very upbeat and enjoyable music playing in the background as players fight with the controls of their vehicle. The sound effects are equally good as crashing noises can be heard every time a player crashes their vehicle into a wall or obstacle, which will happen very often due to the abysmal lack of control they have over their vehicle.
The music saves this abortion of a game from receiving the lowest possible rating. With an overall rating of 2/5 it would not be recommended that gamers waste their time playing the demo, much less spending their hard-earned money on it. The only challenge that Springworld Challenge provides is the challenge of trying to forget that you wasted your time with it when you are done.
