Simply put: A Mac is the best personal computer money can buy.
In a market filled with dozens of brands and hundreds of different options, the market feels saturated and cluttered. In addition, we are in a time of economic downturn. Every dollar is precious, and right now it's extremely hard to justify a notebook which starts at $1000. So how do I do it?
Firstly, as a student, we rely on the best performance possible on our notebooks. Look at the other notebooks on the market. They all run a single operating system: Windows Vista. Vista is critically known to be one of the biggest failures of the decade. It is absolutely horrible from the 2 minute boot up time, to the constant lag, crashes, and viruses it is prone to. There is a new operating system in the pipeline, also by Microsoft, called Windows 7(which is currently in beta) and shows much promise. But, that still doesn't change the basic reason why Mac's operating system, OS X has a huge advantage of it, without even mentioning any features. That huge advantage is the simple fact that it isn't Windows. Because 88% of the world uses Windows, you can be guaranteed that hackers will target the most widely used system. In addition to that, it's a very messy system. For example, Dell will make the computer, but Microsoft will be making the operating system. Because Apple makes both, they get to fine tune both the computer and the operating system to truly deliver the best results.
Second, out-of-the-box Mac's just work. You get a beautiful unboxing experience the second you open it up. Turn it on, and within seconds you're video conferencing with friends. That's because all of the new Mac notebooks come with built in Wireless N, Bluetooth, an iSight webcamera with mic, and tons of software to get you started. Also, Mac's have a cool little feature called "Magsafe". Magsafe is the power adapter. There's no external power brick or anything to lug arround, and it's magnetic, so if you've ever tripped over your powercord and have seen your whole laptop effected, you no longer have to worry. It pulls just right off. Also, the latest aluminum MacBooks's have backlit LED displays, meaning you get a much longer lasting, higher quality, brigers, instant-on display. They also come with a trackpad which has no button. How does it work? Click anywhere on the trackpad! To turn on right clicking, you can set it up so when you hit the bottom right, it clicks. It works beautifully. And, the higher end MacBook($1600), MacBook
