There are days that we feel like we don't want to get out of bed. Life can be awfully hard sometimes. It seems as though we are often just wandering aimlessly about the Earth until our time comes to pass into the next. With all the worries that we live with from gas prices to global warming we sometimes have to wonder if life is truly worth living.
As the alarm clock goes off each morning telling you it's time to rise and shine you struggle in the dark to reach over and hit the snooze button. It's like the old Dunkin' Donuts commercial that I often hear repeated even today. "It's time to make the donuts". Yes, most people come to a point in their life when it's "time to make the donuts" and most people don't really care to do it. That's one of those simple facts of life. These are the days that make us wonder if it's all worth it.
There are those days when everything seems to go wrong. The day that you hit the wrong button and it wasn't the snooze after all is the day that you should have just hung it up right there. Did you listen to your instinct? No, you didn't. You got up and got in the shower to realize there is no hot water because the hot water heater is busted. Then you put on the shirt that you were going to wear only to see a big stain or rip in it. In your hurry to get to work you forget that there are such things as police officers and radars. You get pulled over and get a huge ticket for it. To top all of that off, when you get to work your desk is over stacked with paperwork that wasn't there when you left yesterday, your boss is yelling at you because this is the third time this month that you hit the wrong button and when you bend over your pants rip right up the middle. These are the days when you wonder if it's really worth it all.
The worst of all of the scenarios possible is that we lose someone that we love. Whether it is from death or just because life happens that way sometimes, these are the times that we wonder if we can go on and if it really is worth the effort at all.
Life is most certainly worth living. With everything bad that may happen in a day, everything good can happen in that day also. Those are the things that we need to cling to the most when we question what life's worth really is. Think of all the wonderful things that came from the bad things that happened.
