Good parents don't spoil their children to the point that they don't learn about the value of money. Children need to learn about its value and how hard it is to earn and keep it. They let their children know that everything in life is not free and to take care of the things they have versus always expecting the things they don't.
Good parents listen and give advice. They take the time to understand where their children are coming from and the thought preocesses behind the things that they have done. They encourage open communication and can talk about a variety of subjects to teach and inform their children.
Good parents stand behind and love their children through good and bad. They let their children know that no matter what they have done they will always love them even if they don't agree with them. They don't turn their backs and they don't walk away and give up on them.
