Family values: How children can contribute to the wealth of the family

Wealth does not necessarily mean money, gold or properties. Instead, wealth in this issue is the most important part of the family life. It is more important that money and anything in this world. Wealth in this issue means the good morals and values that each member of the family should possess. A family must have values and each one of the members of the family must have these values. If the parents have good values then the children also have good values. I believe in the saying that good trees bear good fruits. This is true where parents are concerned about their children and they rear their children int he right way. It is therefore very important for parents and other elders to be models for the children where morals and values are concerned. It is the home where everyone starts to learn something. This is the reason why children must be taught and shown what good values are at the earliest age possible.

Children contribute a lot to the wealth of the family. This wealth being good values and morals. Children are taught from birth what is right and what is wrong. The baby may be too young to be taught but the baby has senses that could assimilate the good practices of the people around him or her. While children are still too young, they must be taught the importance of good values so that by the time they grow up, they are already used to doing what is right.

Remember that when our children commit mistakes outside the home, people would always reflect the bad practices to the family. People would often say, "Is that what you are taught at home?" It is therefore important to maintain in the child the values that are good and right. When children see the pleasant things in life everyday, they would also do what is pleasant. When they see good practices around them, they would definitely have good practices even outside of home.

Everyone of us like to have a family with good values. In fact people often say, "A good reputation is more important than being rich." Which is true because what is money if your family has no reputation at all? It is better to be poor but well respected. There are lots of children from rich families who have ruined the name of their family because they have gone astray. The reason for this is, the parents are too busy making money that they forget their obligation to their children.

Children are very important in contributing to the wealth of the family. That is if they are reared the right way, it would be a plus point to the family values. Children would have no reason at all to become bad when they are taught what is right at home. The only time that children will go astray is when they are abandoned by their love ones and if people around them are not good.
