Bible study: Marriage according to the Bible and Proverbs 31

The bible is what me and my husband has tried to keep close to our hearts and in our marriage. We used to try to follow the ways of both of our families. It didn't work because they never had God close to their hearts. We found that by following the rules of the bible keeps our relationship alive and healthy. We are happier and our children are to.

Proverbs 31 is a strong story of a mother telling her son what a relationship should be. It is one of my favorite verses but there are a lot of verses in the bible that tells a man and a women how a relationship should be. In Proverbs 31 verse 10 starts the story of what a true marriage of love should be. It states that finding a women who is Godly and good is far more valuable than any money or anything of value. The husband should be able to trust his wife in every aspect of life. And vice versa. The wife should help her husband to do good in life and encourage good in everything they do. A wife should be willing to work to help the husband by taking care of the house, kids and other things. Its not saying that you should stay bare foot and pregnant in the house and wait on your husband hand and foot. But a man shouldn't have to worry about everything. His job is to make sure you are provided for. A women should be willing out of love to help ease the stress and all the weight off his shoulder by offering her hands to work and to take care of the family. A great women also has a fear of God which is the best quality you can have. It says in verse 30 of Proverbs 31 that favour is deceitful and beauty is vain.

The bible aslo says what a man should do for a women when they get married. I think these verses are strong and very informative. I like Genesis 2:23. God made women out of a rib from Adams body. The women is part of the man and when they are married they become a whole. Both were created to be equal. And that's the way a marriage should be.

Genesis 2:24 is a good verse. It says that a man will leave his father and his mother and be united to his wife and they will become one. Another example of how both parties are created equal. God loves all of us the same. He doesn't love one one way and one another. And he wants the same from us. Marriage is sacrificed and it should be treated that way. God had you and your mate meet for a reason. HE knows everything that is going to happen. He has plans for everything. It took me and my husband a while but once we realized God was in control then things turned around for us.
