Tim Tebow is a 6'3'' 233 lb beast who has been miscast as a quarterback at the University of Florida. The statement is not meant to be a knock on Tebow, who has dominated the position like few others could. In 2008, he threw for 2746 yards and 30 touchdowns, while tossing just 4 interceptions. Those numbers are amazing. He is a natural born leader and he has all the tools to play in the NFL, but he doesn't play like an NFL quarterback. Tebow does have another season available at Florida if he wants to refine his style, but that might reduce his effectiveness. Tim Tebow is not a quarterback, he is a football player, and in the NFL, he will be a really good one.
The 2008 NFL season was the "year of the wildcat". The wildcat is a special formation that teams use to snap the ball directly to a dual threat player. The Miami Dolphins made the formation popular with the success of Ronnie Brown running, passing, and handing off the football. Tim Tebow is an ideal player for the wildcat. Tebow would create a serious problem for defenses because he throws the football better than any of the guys that currently take the wildcat snap. His physical running style creates an added dimension to the play.
Tim Tebow's rare combination of size, speed, and power are ideal for a number of positions. Tebow could excel as a fullback, at H-back, or at tight end. If a team was so inclined, they could move him to outside linebacker or strong safety and have a player built well for the position. Tebow could even cover kickoffs and punts in the pros.
Few players have what Tim Tebow has. He is a big, he is fast, and he is physical. He is a perfect specimen as a football player. Tebow has dynamic leadership qualities that do not come along often. He has been a leader and a winner at every level of competition. He takes motivation from critical commentary and failure, although rare, seems to add to his resolve and determination. Tebow is a mature and grounded young man who handles pressure situations well. Tim Tebow may not be an NFL quarterback, but he will be a quality NFL player. He is the kind of young man that you do not bet against, because he will take that doubt, roll it up into a ball, and stuff it down your throat, all the while grinning from ear to ear.
