For anybody who is confused, the Valkyrie Profile Series began with Enix's Valkyrie Profile game released for the PlayStation One console. This super-rare game was lost in the crowd of Squaresoft games, but it remains to be one of the top games for the PlayStation console. Realising this, Square-Enix started working together to make a prequel to Valkyrie Profile, but in order to do that, they had to make the game more popular. So what did they do? They added in some extra cut scenes and made it portable. They re-released the game, calling it "Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth" for the PSP. Unfortunately, the crowd didn't catch Valkyrie Profile fever as was hoped by Square, but they released Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria, anyways. The second game, for the PS2, used new graphics and styles in hopes of making the game's story better. I will go more in depth of this later in the article.
First and foremost: Valkyrie Profile and Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth are the same game. I will describe them as the same game, as the only difference in them is the fact that the PSP version has some added cut scenes when there was a flash and a ping in Valkyrie Profile. It is a breathtaking game, full of beautiful artwork, music, and an in-depth story that, to understand fully, you are forced to play through the game three times! When you start the game, even before you go to "New Game", you can go into the "Sound Mode", a special screen where you can hear 61 out of the 75 amazing tracks of the game (you unlock the other 14 when you get the A ending), and there is a Voice Collection here too. If you go there, you can hear all of the in-battle voice effects that any character makes. Each character has a huge variety of battle quotes, ranging from screams to incantations to asking the monster to just die already! One of the things that makes this game stand out is the voice acting. Usually in a video game, there are a lot of computerized wails that make up the dying throes of a human, but this game has real voice actors who are really good at what they do. The voices bring you that much more into the game and allow you to really interact with the characters' thoughts and feelings. Also, the music itself is phenomenal. Motoi Sakuraba is well known for his Star Ocean series work, but he really shines in Valkyrie Profile. He later came out with a pair of remix albums of the original soundtrack, one an arranged version of 12 songs, and the other a 'voice remix', where he not only did a new arrangement,
