Hi I am new to Helium. Looking through the Federal Sentencing Guidelines I came acroos this site. Very Interesting ! I served 18 months in Federal prison for a victimless crime. I was very strung out on drugs and started making counterfeit money on my computer. I spent probably 2 - 300 dollars buying drugs with the money. Didn't get caught.. Then my husband and I broke up and he told his ex - wife about the money. She called the city police, they got a warrant came to my home, found nothing except the copies of the money on the hard drive. Took me to the police station, called the feds and when they came it was decided I should "work" for the police department to set up drug dealers and they let me go home to think about it. I believe if you play you pay so I would not set up other people for the police.
About 6 - 8 months went by and I recieved a letter in the mail from the attorney general saying I was being charged with manufacturing conterfeit money and to report to the federal building at such and such time. I did. They gave me a O.R bond and anther year went by before I had to go back to court. Sentenced to the 18 months and 3 years supervised release. I have been out over 2 years now. Two to three times a month since being released I have to drive over a hour away for drug testing.
At first I had to travel to the probation office at least every month (probation is almost 100 miles away) while keeping full time employment, mental health appointments and drus classses. Oh and since I was losing weighjt too fast when I got home I had to wear a drug patch for about 6 months along with the testing of urine. My p.o. thought I had reverted back to cocaine but, I have tested clean every time. She laeft the patch on me once for almost 50 days and I still have the last one that fell off a year ago in my freezer. I have not missed one drug class, urine screen or mental health appointment. I have maintained employment since being home though here have been many obstiicles.
My first p.o. told me on our first visit that I already had one foot back in prison. The second p.o. not too bad, just always assuming and trying to catch me up in anything. The 3rd p.o. I have never met or spoke to and have had him about 3 months. I live in a small own where I was known when I was out there messing up. Recently I was contacted by a Det. telling me a man I had helped with his taxes ( Rick) the year before filed a complaint saying I stole his income tax.
