I looked into your small, pink face
I felt an overwhelming happiness
The labor pains didn't matter anymore.
The length and coil of my pretty lace
Which you have made into a nest
Mattered not, as you faltered to the door.
The "Hi mom, I'm home" I would brace
myself , you're sixteen, at best
Just come home without a bloody gore.
"Kiss grandma" you said to little Grace
Your daughter, won't let me go, lest
I forget to recount, her much awaited lore.
You've brought sunshine rays
You're an angel and I'm blessed
to have you as a son I prayed for.
Son, now you've grown and I gaze
at your face, I m now ready to rest.
Remember, I love you forevermore.
