Tackling a job with the same dedication as you would if you were self employed is a good quality to cultivate. This means you have the ability to give the company your best and can work as hard as you would if the company was your own. If each person is similarly motivated, the end result of their venture will be beneficial to all those involved. Some qualities that definitely help to increase your chances of making a success of any job you set out to do are:

RESILIENCE: This goes hand in hand with self employment because you have to struggle to make it on your own. The ability to carry on regardless of adverse circumstances around you to complete tasks in time and without help teaches you to focus and not give up easily. This quality will definitely help you to accomplish any job you are given to do.

DESIRE TO SUCCEED: Every self employed person needs this quality in order to succeed as it instils in you determination, focus and dedication. You have to succeed as it is your livelihood and your hard work will determine its successful outcome. All these qualities are invaluable in an employment situation or when there is a job has to be tackled and completed successfully.

INITIATIVE: This quality is allowed full reign in self employment. New concepts and ideas have to be researched as there is always the desire and need to get as much information as you can to ensure all avenues are explored and make your business a success. This is a positive quality to bring to employment especially for those responsible for generating new business ventures or products.

NETWORKING: Self employed people excel at networking. They will talk about their new business ventures, aim to meet other people who are also in the same field and they will cultivate contacts who can help them in their business. This need to build a good customer base is vital for their business success and this quality is a bonus in a job scenario where the same basic qualities are required especially in sales and marketing jobs to generate more business.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE: To be self employed you have to be an all rounder and have knowledge about a number of different fields. The ability to start a business, to run its day to day operations, to handle the marketing and sales and also to be able to keep track of its financial transactions are all part of running your own business. If you are in have a job where you are allowed freedom to get involved in running different areas of the business, then this quality will definitely work to your advantage.

SELF CONFIDENCE: A self employed person might work alone but he has to have the self confidence in his own abilities to succeed. By being a manager and an employee all rolled into one he can change hats when the need arises and this ability to switch roles will help him to tackle different jobs without feeling inadequate.

CONCENTRATION: In self employment you have to learn to manage things on your own and sometimes in circumstances which are difficult. There might be the hustle and bustle of family life around you which teaches you to concentrate and focus on what you have to do without being distracted. This is a great ability to have and cultivate in any employment scenario.

When you work for a company it is belief in the company's ideals and working towards their goals as if it is your own company that will put you on the road to success. It means being involved, interested and motivated in your work and seeing its successful outcome.
