What is love?

and abuse it and yet it remains. True love is steadfast and consistent. Love will not betray you, love will support you. Love is the treasure you offer to the person who is willing to accept it and treat it with respect. Love is not lust, nor is it appeal or beauty or even passion. Love is the culmination of the maturation process; it is your reward. Love is that genuine ownership and protective instinct you nurture when you have found the right receptacle for your sentiments.

The only problem with love is that we can often confuse it with lust. If we act on our feelings of lust and charge ahead as though it were love, we will experience the agony of defeat. We will understand why some say you have to work at a good relationship. Without love and depending solely upon lust, your task will be very difficult indeed.

It would appear that true love between two individuals is a rarity. The divorce rate is upwards of 50% and steadily growing at every count. I do believe there is that one true partner for everyone in the world. That one positive "pull-apart", a true destiny, a soul mate so to speak. The task is to wait until that other half of you finds you or you run across them. You will know when it happens. You will feel the draw on your heart well before your loins react.

Love, in a word, is no more than that, love. It is everything at once. It is the one blessing our God has given us that no one can take away. If any of us are ever so lucky as to find that one true love of our life we need to thank our God for leading us in the right direction and bless our fortune for having made a right turn somewhere in life.
Love is indeed automatic. Love is instinctive. Love is as natural as is fear, or happiness or anger. Love is that one emotion we need to safeguard with our soul. We need to preserve it for that one individual it was intended for from the beginning.
I speak from experience; I have found my truly intended. I pray you may find your true destiny as well. I thank my God I have been blessed to have found mine; finally, I have found mine.
