Threads of Fate, aka Dewprism, is one of the rarest and most beautiful jewels you can find for the Playstation 1. Released at the same time as the other big releases, Legend of Mana and Chrono Cross, Threads of Fate was widely forgotten in the popularity of the crowd. In my opinion, this game gets a big 5/5. Why? Well, let me take you into the city of Corona as we search for the [relic].
Story:
When you start the game, you have a choice between two characters, Mint and Rue. These two characters have their own storylines which do intersect a lot, but near the end of the game they offer fairly different insights. Mint is a magic-wielding, power-hungry princess whose obnoxious and spoiled attitude had her place as heir to the throne removed, leaving Maya, her younger sister, in charge. With a strange phobia for pumpkins, Mint leaves her kingdom of East Heaven to search for a [relic], a magical item created by ancient beings known as Aeons who were thought to have been able to move mountains and the cosmos at will. She plans to use the most powerful [relic] she can find to take over the world. Sounds simple, no? Mint's story is full of funny quotes, pumpkins being conjured above Mint's head to scare the wits out of her, world domination (kinda), and a good 'ole [relic] hunt.
Rue's story is much, much different. Having woken up out of some strange ruins five years prior, he had no idea who or what he was. Wandering through the tundra, on the verge of collapsing from starvation, a woman came and saved him. Rue and this woman, Claire, lived together for two years, and Rue loved her as he would a sister. One day, a mysterious man named only as Arm of Death came and killed Claire. Rue left and went to search for the [relic] so he could revive Claire and live as he was living before. Wielding his Arc Edge, a very big axe, he comes into Corona on the same ship as Mint. He goes into the forest, and the player learns that Rue can actually take the form of the last four different types of monsters he has killed (with the exception of bosses). This inhuman trait lets him sneak in as
