Every member of Helium makes a difference to the quality on Helium's website. You may be a writer who has only written 2 articles or a seasoned writer who has a thousand, but did you know that every single writer matters to the site quality? There are many ways that individual writers can make a difference and the principal ones are shown in this article. We are all guilty of forgetting that a site is only as good as the members on it, and perhaps it is time to assess our own activities in an effort to improve and maintain the quality of the site.

Writing.
We all think that the article we just wrote is the best we have written. If we didn't what would keep us coming back ? It's this aim for success which makes a writer succeed, and consequently help the stability of the site. Good quality informative articles is what the site wants, and understanding the aims of Helium helps us also to understand the market to which we are writing.
Helium aims to be a human encyclopedia, put together by individuals all over the world. All they ask of us, as members is that we produce good quality work which is laid out correctly, and contains good factual information which addresses the topic at hand.
Learning to write better quality.
All writers get better, though some close their eyes to improvement because they think that somehow they are already good enough. Being a professional writer isn't all it takes. What it does take is learning the art of writing for a web page, and that is entirely different. Paragraphs need to be shorter than in traditional writing, and we are all writing for passers by who may not be interested in how Uncle Jim's bunions crippled him. What they would be looking for is how to overcome problems with bunions and that's an entirely different thing.
As you begin to write for a site like Helium, you also learn to gage your work for the kind of audience you are writing to. If you write work which is overly scholarly in essay form, this will only appeal to readers who actually are on a similar level of intellect. If you make your article broader in it's targeted audience, what happens is that more people will read it and consequently, you will get paid more.
Learning through rating.
Have you ever read an article in ratings and thought to yourself
