Like most role playing games Eternal Eden hooks you in with a story that makes you want to know more.
Eternal Eden follows the story of a group of heroes that live in Eden, a land in which everyone lives forever and the Tower of Eden provides everyone with anything they want from food to clothes. Everything was perfect until one day a mysterious darkness falls on the land of Eden forcing a young knight and his friends into a barren and wicked land filled with monsters.
Like many role playing games you have to explore your surroundings and fight enemies to gain experience, obtain gold points, find items and collect weapons and armor. This game also has a new exclamation system which helps you detect hidden items in labyrinths instead of mindlessly walking about pressing the action button in hopes of finding an item, an exclamation point appears over the head of the character once you pass over a hidden item.
In some other role playing games the enemies attack without warning as you just walk about exploring the environment, however in this game enemies are represented by clouds floating about the labyrinths allowing you the option of avoiding a fight if you want to. If you choose to hunt down and fight all the enemies in each labyrinth you will receive a special item from the Hall of Treasure. The special item is optional but it is still fun to hunt down all the enemies in the area.
Again like most role playing games the fighting in Eternal Eden is controlled through an enter command system or turn based system in which you have to wait your turn in order to select the command you want each character to execute.
The controls are very straight to the point and easy to understand, especially with the in game tutorial. The character responds to the direction arrows you push and the action button takes care of talking, fighting and searching for and using items.
The graphics in the game are pretty low key but are complimented by bright and vibrant colors that go well with the overall game play and the music goes well with the game but is not very exciting or memorable. However role playing games are not about the music or the graphics they are about the characters and the stories that make you want to know how it ends and with Eternal Eden you are drawn into the story within the first minute of playing it.
Without any reservations I give Eternal Eden by Bloomsoft an overall rating of 4/5.
