Do they still do it
that thing they used to call
"The Mexican Wave"?
Impressive it was, when it started.
Like a tidal wave of arms, ejecting the crowd
forcibly from their seats,
popping up in almost surprised synchronicity.
How novel it was once

As I walked along the beach today
The sea, a mill pond, well nearly
kissed by the first rays of the Sun.
Yet struggling ashore
gently lapping at one inch tall
my wave impressed me with its peacefulness
not brash bravado
as it kissed the beach with all its ancient calming splendour.
