This is a person that has two years to live and, no plans on how to spend them. Can you help add meaning, and a sense of fulfillment to this person's life, by advising them on what to do? This individual has worked hard to maintain a decent life for themselves and family. Our friend has made many self sacrifices to ensure the well being of others, these endeavors have been immeasurable and without fanfare. The end is near, and our friend does not want to waste another moment of their short-numbered days, can you help? Please make a list and fast foreword it to our friend in your mirror. That's right, my friend is you. And let me point out that, this article is in no way saying that you will soon be dying within two years, in fact it's trying to alertly show that, many of us spend so much time on making sure those around us live well, and in doing so, we forget to steal away a little life for ourselves.
Until now you most likely viewed the term "bucket list" as a list of things that you want to do before you die or "kick the bucket". My friend I'm here to change your perception of this meaning, and tell you that this "bucket" should be viewed as a temporary safe keep for your life goals and dreams, kept in plain view, with the intent on enjoying them while you are living and healthy.
Life is about balance and motivation. What good would it do you, to do all the things that you ever wanted to do, with the mindset of death, lurking just beyond every completed task? My friend, a true "bucket list" should be made in the sunrise of living.
It should contain planned getaways and life reviving excursions to places and events that make you full and at the same time hungry for more life. Your "bucket" should carry only the ingredients that taste good to you, as opposed to, what Hollywood has fed you.
It's about doing what makes you feel good. Jumping out of a plane or climbing a mountain may not find its way onto your list, unless those are the things that you believe will fill your void. Instead make a list of realistic goals and aspirations that span a real timeframe, and harmonize your mission to a life filled with motivated balance.
Two years to live, equates to this. The normal lifespan is around 70 years, that's 25,550 days, if you minus 2 years, you find yourself with 24,820 days, which will mostly contain work and keeping others happy. You owe it to yourself to keep 730 days (two years).Plan it, write it down, and live it. Buckets are only temporary holding devices, created to balance what we hold in them, until such a time that we are ready to pour out and enjoy its contents.
