Should the Internet be censored

The Internet is already being censored by the various websites that carry certain material for an underage group. But all a person has to do is say they are a certain age, or have someone older get into the website for them. A younger person could lie and say they are over a certain age and create an older age for themselves. Websites with naked videos, and pictures on them, have been trying for years to censorship their websites. But in reality the censorship doesn't work.

The Internet was created several years ago as a haven for all material, videos, and pictures that are free of any censorship. People of all ages have been enjoying the freedom that the Internet provides. With websites trying to keep out certain people from joining their ranks and viewing porn, the Internet has already had a small degree of censorship.

But with all of the freedom that the Internet has been enjoying, how would anyone be able to police the Internet to discover every website, and blog that is of a certain nature and censorship those offensive websites and blogs? It would virtually be impossible to do so. Thousands of Internet police would have to be hired by someone who was willing to pay them to find any of the offensive material. With there being millions of websites out there, who would have the time to find it all? It would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Then once the Internet cops would find offensive websites they would have to censorship the websites and offensive blogs.

Laws would have to be created for discovered offensive material. This could be an entirely new area for lawyers to branch out into and make money from. A plethora of problems would crop up as to deeming what exactly is offensive and should be deemed censored. This would be much worse, and time consuming than censoring offensive, disgusting, material and nudity on television. Someone would have to pay Internet agencies to police the Internet. How could a policeperson arrest a website offender? How would the police catch he criminal in the act? Can you imagine the police coming to your front door, and pounding on it yelling, "We're the police, put down the mouse and come up with your hands up!"

It would be virtually impossible for the police to police the Internet in order to perform their job duties.

What would happen is that the world would become one BIG Brother state. We would have Big Brother on the Internet policing our worldwide web activities. As it is whatever you place, type or do on the Internet can be tracked by major corporations such as Google. Who needs to be too scared to do innocent research for article on the Internet when they are looking up the word sex? Who knows what might happen, with the door being throw open and the Internet police rushing to arrest you for viewing a sexy video of a woman.

You would not be able to utilize your computer in the safety of your home anymore. You would be under watch by prying unseen eyes. The Internet is here for people to enjoy the freedom it brings. Yes, it would be a wonderful world if censorship could take place on the Internet. Then perhaps children would be safer using the Internet without having a child predator breathing down their necks. It would be terrific to have porn censored on the Internet.

But, it can only happen with major funding being thrown in to create state, federal and world wide agencies to police the Internet. The Internet would no longer be a place of unlimited freedom, and we all would have to follow the rules deemed to us by the government. With all of the laws being forced down our throats already, we don't need Big Brother watching our every move on the Internet also.
