Freedom
I am who I am
Don't try and change me
Correct me if I am wrong
When I am weak, help me stand strong
When I am sad don't get mad
Just be by my side and I will be glad
Understand who I am
The psychological mind games I cannot conceive
Apparent they are not and I cannot perceive
Don't blame me for everything that does not go right
I aim to do right...but life is not all black and white
Accept who I am
Unhappy you are with whatever I do
My heartfelt words you misconstrue
I can't seem to appease you with anything anymore
Fruitlessly I strive to open up the shut door
Acknowledge who I am
I have a heart, I am not heartless
Your deafening voice leaves me breathless
Those caustic words corrode my soul
Now soulless I feel lost in the black hole
Appreciate who I am
For a very long time now I have tried
To be the one you could take pride
My love for you camouflaged the pain
But I know now it is all in vain
Recognize who I am
I can't hold on to this current so powerful and strong
The anchor can't clasp and I am slipping along
Let my painful blisters sail away with the flow
May be the healing will begin once I let you go
Realize who I am
My mother once gave me a small piece of advice
She said to control someone is impossible and unwise
As they are what they are and will always be
The only one you can change is oneself you see
Embrace who I am
So change yourself if change you must
No one is perfect , so try and be just
Don't mold me so that I lose my own identity
This is who I am , this is me ..
Just love me. . .
Don't try and change me!
