Have you ever wondered how a good memory might be helpful to your career? If you are one of those fortunate beings who have a good memory, then you have a mental tool that will allow you to excel in knowledge and status, and if you use it wisely, it could put you at the top of your career ladder.
A person with a good memory is able to learn, increase in knowledge and develop concepts and strategies faster than someone with a poor memory. When the person sees or hears something physical, that fixation becomes locked in their memory bank, much like a computer. They are able to retain full knowledge of what they learned at the time and utilize it at will. Someone with a poor memory would not have that information readily available.
As the saying goes, chance comes to the prepared mind. People with good memories have minds that are always prepared to receive and give out knowledge. They are alert and informed of things around them because they are able to retain what they've learned and continue to add to their memory bank. This virtue makes them more prepared mentally to efficiently act on the unexpected or the unforeseen.
People with poor memories need to write things down and keep physical files for their ready reference. This takes time and disallows them from being instantly available to deal with events around them.
People with good memories can always put names and faces together, and this is a strong characteristic that is prudent in many careers. Whether they have a frequent working relationship or if they've only been introduced once, a person with a good memory can address their piers and superiors by name. This is an impressive quality that puts them above the others in communication skills.
Details of meetings, events and conversations are locked into their memories and they are able to recall them at any time. This makes someone with a good memory invaluable to the growth of a business and to the continuance of their own career.
Since they are able to recall information at any time, they can move faster in the development of their career because they don't have to waste time researching or hunting down facts that they wrote down somewhere or forgot.
People with good memories are less likely to panic and become phobic during presentations or information events because they have learned to rely on their own memories as a positive storehouse of information. They don't have the struggle of forcing themselves to memorize statistics or recall conversations because it's natural for them to just store the information in their memory.
A good memory will keep you readily informed of the things that were said or done in the past, and which are being brought into the present. You would be able to recall with clarity any accusations, promises and even challenges. Your memory would retain the facts and so you would be less likely to become deceived with misinformation or trickery.
People with good memories are more likely to be promoted to positions of control or authority. They have proved to be reliable with their facts and their ability to give advice based on their knowledge and recollection of facts.
When it comes to your career, a good memory could be your greatest asset because it gives you an effective advantage over everyone else.
