offers a large array of interactive displays. This museum is two stories cataloging the growth of Illinois. There is a special display depicting the daily lives of the Illinois Indians. You will hear a narrator explaining what each character is doing in this display.
There is also a display titled At Home in the Heartland. This area is dedicated to the way households have changed in the last 300 years. Imagine your children's faces when you explain how the family had fun without video games, television or even how the toys you once played with are now in a museum.
A Place to Discover is a section of the museum for children to touch and learn with hands on activities through art and nature.

The newest addition to the Lincoln legacy is the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM} www.alplm.org/home.html
.Located at 212 N. Sixth Street in Springfield is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission to the museum is $10 for adults 16-61years of age, seniors age 62 and over- $7. Children 5-15 years of age are admitted for $4. Those serving in the military and students {school/college} $7 receive a discount when they show their Ids. Children under 5 are admitted for free.
Take a walk back in time through Lincoln's cabin then follow his footsteps through his presidency. Visit Mrs. Lincoln's Attic with your children and take their picture next to a life sized cutout of a young Abe Lincoln and his sister. Watch as your children play with toys from Lincoln's era.
Next visit The Ghost of the Library room. You'll be amazed as a pen floats through the air while the narrator tells the story of times. This is a truly wonderful experience
