We've all heard songs on the radio or television or in a move that we can't quite identify, right? I know I have. The question is, how can you find out what the title of the song is when you only know some of the lyrics. There are multiple ways that this question can be answered, so lets take a look at a couple different ones.

1) Google. Really, this is my standard default method for finding song titles. How? It's really quite simple. Go to Google.com, take what you know of the lyrics, enter them into the search box and hit enter. You will get a lot of hits and far more often than not, the first couple results will be the song you're looking for. If you know for sure what the lyrics are, you can narrow your search more by using quotation marks around the lyrics so that it gives more accurate results.

2) Yahoo Answers. You can search their question database for the lyrics that you know. If someone else has asked, you might get results. If no one else has asked, you can ask and people who know the song can answer the question. This doesn't mean that the first answer will be the right answer, nor does it mean that you will get an answer at all. From the answers you do get, you can make a better attempt at finding the right song.

3) Lyrics Fly (lyricsfly.com). You can type what lyrics you know into the search box, just like you would using Google, except it's a specialized search for music. Again, you will have to figure out what result is the one that you want, so it will likely take a bit more work than just searching, but it's a good starting point.

If none of the above work, ask your friends. Friends who share the same musical interest are usually your best source of information, especially if they have a lot of music. They can tell you what song it is and let you listen to it if they have it so it gives you a better idea of whether it's the correct song or not.

If all that fails, you can always call the radio station (if you heard it on the radio) and ask them what song they were playing when you heard the song. They keep track of what the songs played are, sometimes they are able to tell you.

If that fails, then I'm not sure what to tell you, since it's virtually impossible for all of those ways of searching to fail completely. Someone, somewhere, has to know the answer to the question. It's just a matter of finding the right one.
