What would the internet world be without Myspace? This is THE place to go when you want to be part of one of the largest social networks in the world. You have decided to get a Myspace account. The reasons vary as to why people get them. Some people just want to keep connected to family and friends. Myspace is a great way to share pictures and stories about your life. Other people want to see how many friends they can add. This would be the category we are discussing today. So, you want to be a Myspace superstar? The problem is that you just aren't sure how to go about it. Do not fear, the answers are right here.
1. Take a good look at your profile- Your profile says everything about you. It tells people who you are and what you stand for. It lets them know if you are fun or a flop. If you have not taken the time to personalize your profile, do it now. There is nothing worse than someone coming to your page and seeing that you haven't done anything with the page other than add your name. Here are a couple of ways that you can add some nice touches to your page:
A) Add a background- These can easily be found by going to Google and typing in the words "Myspace profiles". This will put you on your way to an amazing array of profiles that will have you searching all night for just the right one. It should be something that says "Here I am and this is me!" Follow the instructions on the page to add the profile to your page. You are on your way to becoming a Myspace Superstar.
B) Fill out all the information that you can- When you go to edit your profile you can add information about yourself such as telling about yourself in the About Me section. You should fill out all the other boxes as well. Some of those include Movies, Television, Music and Heroes. You can't ask people to be your friend if you are still keeping all of your information private. People will feel put off by that and leave your page without ever looking back.
C) Add Pictures and Video- Pictures are the most personal touch you can put on your Myspace. This lets people see who you are. It allows them to decide if you look like a nutcase or not. It also allows them to see if you are someone that looks trustworthy. If you aren't sharing pictures you may as well say "Hey, be my friend but I don't want you to look at me." How well do you think that will go over? Videos are a great way for people to see the things that you are interested in as well.
2. Add Music- Myspace used to have a fairly limited music selection. That is not the case today. Almost any song that you can think of can be added to your profile. Not only that, you can have ten full songs on your profile. It used to be just one. Be creative. Add songs that show what type of music you like and what kind of a mood you are in. These can get very interesting to say the least.
3. Trains- Now that you have your page up to speed you are ready to begin adding people. The fastest way to do this is to join a Myspace Train. You can google those words and it will give you several sites where you can join a train and you will find friends like you never imagined. Beware, you can quickly lose those friends if you don't keep your page interesting. Keep your page up-to-date with the latest information, applications, etc. This will coax people into sticking around a while.
4. Add Apps- If you want to become a Myspace superstar you need to add some of the many applications that are available. Join Mobsters or Mafia Wars and you will see your friends list growing at an unbelievable pace. That isn't mentioning the fact that you will get addicted to those games.
5. Find Friends Tab- Go to this tab which is located at the top of your page. You can look for friends several ways with the tool. You can search by age group, school, interests and the list goes on. You can find a lot of people that you can add just by doing this one simple step.
The main thing to keep in mind when you are trying to become a Myspace superstar is to keep it fun. Don't get to serious about it. You will find yourself addicted to gaining more and more friends. Why, because you want to see how many friends you can actually add to your list before Tom cuts you off. By the way, it is not cool to have Tom as your number one friend on Myspace.
