It's 35 degrees and it's raining. That's okay because the terrace jolting out gives you cover and you can just sort of stand there and watch the balls fly out into the rain. Not cold, the simple movement of arms and shoulders and somehow; through divine coordination of the muscles in your body, a small white ball travels. If hit right it sort of floats out there like you didn't even touch it. If you hit it flat it stings the hell out of your hands. And there's such a beauty to it all, the calmness and the discipline and the sore back, all of it makes every moment worth it.
If you're new to this game you've never felt that before. If you really stretched what I said it might sound like I was talking about some sort of psychedelic. No, this isn't anything illegal; it's the game of golf. My guess is if you are looking here on how to hit a golf ball, you're a beginner (if not, that's okay, we've all had our chili pepper moments) If you're reading this you want to know how to hit a golf ball. Once your body knows it hey! Guess what? The job is done. I would talk about how to eliminate that static noise, but let's give you that fundamental swing first, shall we?
Okay. So. You've hit balls 90 degrees left and right and up and into the ground, you've broken a set of clubs and your back in the process and you just want to hit the ball 100 yards if I just do that I'll die a happy man. Well, the process begins without you even touching a club. We need to teach you how the body works, and last time I checked, the club wasn't part of your body. So let's try this exercise to get you introduced to the way your body should move. Try this:
Start with a typical golf stance (A typical golf stance should be feet shoulder width apart, knees flexed and not bent. Bend your spine forward slightly. But keep your spine straight to the point where your head moves up and down. Now move your head down. You should be looking at the ground. For anyone looking at the
