Who are you to judge others?

by Bella A. Bowman

Created on: January 07, 2009

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to become another species or at least some other human being? Perhaps someone more wealthy or someone of a lower caste system? What it would be like experience the opposite of whom you are? In many cases, I have felt this way but this has often questioned my appreciation and gratification of where I come from. To this day, I've come to the realization that I am so lucky in millions of ways. Many others should, too. It took me forever to learn that everything happens for a reason; my life on this Earth comes with many purposes of why I am the way I am. I may not understand its interpretations but I do know that God has a plan for every one of us and that our lives were already mapped out, even before we came out of our mother's womb.

What bothers me the most are the judgemental views that people tend to inflict upon others. What every person tend to forget is that we all were born as sinners so therefore, we're automatically considered as hypocrites. What gives us the right to look down on those whom are homosexuals? Those who have committed sexual acts before wedlock? Those who lie, murder, and steal? In the biblical views, it has mentioned that a lie is equalivant to someone who has dishonored an authority or committed adultery. What's the difference, really? Judging others is like making a repayment towards yourself for however you treat others and it truly reflects your inner negativity. Our society is too busy being focused on the sanitary of human rights and what' is accepted by everyone as a large group of majority. This indicates how selfish the majority of the population can be; acting like God rather than abiding by the righteousness of the real Higher Power. People who have nothing better to do typically spend their valuable time making others feel inferior.

Those who look down on others because of differences are the ones that cannot accept the way their own lives have been mapped out. They cannot accept the idea that it is okay to make mistakes. In reality, mistakes are life lessons made through research that teaches you how to become stronger and wiser. Immaturity comes with judgement so therefore, maturity can only be achieved if one is capable to accept a life of hardships without comparing others in an inferior perspective. Why spend the kind of life trying to be perfect? That will just make people more arrogant and empty-minded. Love yourself and accept others. Only God will understand the heart, not anyone else.
