Dragon fruit are kind of cool, and you could include a complete feeding schedule for dragons, just in case she should run into one of the fire breathing beasts while she is busy munching out on one of these delicacies.

Another option that you might decide on is a selection of very unusual treats. Nutritious wafers made from bug flour or perhaps chocolate coated insects might be a good choice? These treats come in quite a wide selection and you can choose anything from crunchy chocolate coated ants, crickets and bumblebees, to mealworm wafers, yummy! I would definitely recommend including a nice bottle of wine with this gift option. Like a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down well so does a fine bottle of wine help that little chocolate covered bug go down. But of course you could be a sweetheart, and just give mom a regular white or dark chocolate in a really unique shape, or form. Heck you can even make your own individually designed chocolate wonder! All you need is chocolate that can be melted down, and a cookie, salad, or cake mold. Then get creative and see what you can come up with to suit your mom's personality!

If your mom has a strong heart then you might consider giving her an adventure for Mothers Day. There is everything from white river rafting adventures to helicopter rides, bungee or parachute jumps, to visits to wax museums. Perhaps a gift that gives mom a little pampering, perhaps the gift a full body Reiki session, or just that of a simple but oh so soothing foot massage. Of course if your mom is like so many others and just prefers to stay quietly at home rather than partaking of life's more elaborate adventures, then consider giving her a gift that provides her with a little additional comfort within her own domain. Robotic vacuums are very nice and come in quite a wide variety of shapes, themes and colors. You can get anything from a race car to a pretty pink circular model. How about an environmentally friendly ice cream maker that comes in the shape of a ball, just add your ingredients, ice, and play ball! Oh and while we are on the topic of environmentally friendly gifts, how about giving mom her very own tree, you can get all kinds you know? If she lives in an apartment, a dwarf size fruit tree, or bonsai is perfect. If she has a yard than consider a lilac, apple, or ash. There are so many beautiful trees to choose from and each one comes with its very own supply of oxygen creating leaves.

Of course if you do decide to go with a standard gift for mom, give it a little twist, and see what you can come up with to make it unique. If you decide to give her maid service for a month, get her a male maid, she should find that one amusing!

If you are thinking of just giving her a gift certificate, then get her one for a novelty store, love shop, or some such other unusual local instead of the usual fare.

If you are looking at purchasing her clothing, then how about a new bathing suit, and passes to the local swimming pool? Maybe a Jester's hat and tickets to a local comedy festival? How about a hockey jersey and seasons tickets for your local hockey teams games? A new nightgown and a weekend stay at a nice resort? A crying towel and passes to the local bowling alley? I'll leave it up to you to figure out which gift idea might be best for your mom, with a little imagination and a whole lot of creativity, I am sure that you'll pick the perfect weird and wonderful gift for your mom!
