Every now and then it is nice to get mom a gift that absolutely no one else on God's Green Earth would consider giving her. A gift so out of the ordinary that it boggles the very thought patterns of all those who try to determine exactly why you would consider such an item as an appropriate gift item for dear old mom. You might even call these weirdly wonderful gifts, the strangest Mothers Day gifts imaginable, and that would indeed be an almost ideal description of them. After all you have been looking for a gift for mom that is unique, and one that no one else would give her anyways, so hey why not? Go for the gusto! Break the mold! Get mom one of the strangest Mothers Day gifts that you can think of, or at the very least, one of the weirdest mothers Day gifts.
You might even consider getting mom a devoted companion for her special day. A little friend for her to talk to, and care for, perhaps a Sugar Glider would fit the bill? These furry little critters look like some weird kind of cross between a badger and a squirrel. They are about the size of a chipmunk, furry, have big beady eyes, little tiny claws, and sharp teeth to bite you with if you annoy them. They hate kids and other noisy situations. They go to the bathroom a lot, yet are totally incapable of being potty trained, kind of similar to a hamster in that regard. The great news about Sugar Gliders is that they are adorable, amusing, very unique, entertaining, and super listeners if you are having a really awful day and just need somebody to confide in. But if you feel that they would just be too much work for mom, than maybe consider getting her a pet that is a little easier to care for, like maybe a Clam. Clams are cute, don't shed, and very easy to care for. Heck, you don't even have to feed them, they feed themselves. And if you get tired of keeping them, then they provide you with a fast and convenient evening meal, aphrodisiac anyone? Other interesting pet ideas for mom would include giving her Seahorses, a couple Hermit crabs, a Skunk, or a Venus Fly Trap. The Venus Fly Trap is great because it performs a dual function as both friend and fly catcher. But if you have your heart set on Seahorses for her, keep in mind that they are social creatures, and should be purchased in groups rather than single units.
Maybe mom would prefer some new and interesting food items to tantalize her palate? A nice fruit basket comprised of rare and exotic fruits is always a nice option, just be sure to include a little list explaining what each fruit is, and accurate directions for consuming it. Dragon fruit are kind of cool, and you could include a complete feeding schedule for dragons, just in case she should run into one of the fire breathing beasts while she is busy munching out on one of these delicacies.
Another option that you might decide on is a selection of very unusual treats. Nutritious wafers made from bug flour or perhaps chocolate coated insects might be a good choice? These treats come in quite a wide selection and you can choose anything from crunchy chocolate coated ants, crickets and bumblebees, to mealworm wafers, yummy! I would definitely recommend including a nice bottle of wine with this gift option. Like a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down well so does a fine bottle of wine help that little chocolate covered bug go down. But of course you could be a sweetheart, and just give mom a regular white or dark chocolate in a really unique shape, or form. Heck you can even make your own individually designed chocolate wonder! All you need is chocolate that can be melted down, and a cookie, salad, or cake mold. Then get creative and see what you can come up with to suit your mom's personality!
If your mom has a strong heart then you might consider giving her an adventure for Mothers Day. There is everything from white river rafting adventures to helicopter rides, bungee or parachute jumps, to visits to wax museums. Perhaps a gift that gives mom a little pampering, perhaps the gift a full body Reiki session, or just that of a simple but oh so soothing foot massage. Of course if your mom is like so many others and just prefers to stay quietly at home rather than partaking of life's more elaborate adventures, then consider giving her a gift that provides her with a little additional comfort within her own domain. Robotic vacuums are very nice and come in quite a wide variety of shapes, themes and colors. You can get anything from a race car to a pretty pink circular model. How about an environmentally friendly ice cream maker that comes in the shape of a ball, just add your ingredients, ice, and play ball! Oh and while we are on the topic of environmentally friendly gifts, how about giving mom her very own tree, you can get all kinds you know? If she lives in an apartment, a dwarf size fruit tree, or bonsai is perfect. If she has a yard than consider a lilac, apple, or ash. There are so many beautiful trees to choose from and each one comes with its very own supply of oxygen creating leaves.
Of course if you do decide to go with a standard gift for mom, give it a little twist, and see what you can come up with to make it unique. If you decide to give her maid service for a month, get her a male maid, she should find that one amusing!
If you are thinking of just giving her a gift certificate, then get her one for a novelty store, love shop, or some such other unusual local instead of the usual fare.
