If you are interested in horses, chances are you've found out that there are some great online sources out there. I've compiled a list of some of the ones that I've found to be most helpful.

www.horseinfo.com a great collection of books, videos, and software on any imaginable facet of the horse world. Has out-of-print books and materials that you likely won't find anywhere else.

www.horsecity.com This site has tons of information. Classifieds, articles, bulletin boards with a wealth of information from horse owners, videos, and a monthly free contest in which they've given away saddles and even horses.

www.chronofhorse.com The site of the Chronicle of the Horse magazine. It has tons of articles, some of which are accessible for free, some of which require a membership to access. The site also has classifieds, a stallion directory, and a large selection of forums that are free to access.

www.barnmice.com This site has some wonderful horse videos uploaded by its members.

www.equusite.com Advertised as "The ultimate horse resource," this site has tons of information. Tons of articles on horse care, safety, and riding are accompanied by classified listings of not only horses, but also trainers, farriers, riding schools, and so much more.

www.marestare.com A site that allows you to view mares due to foal. Breeding barns set up cameras in their stalls that provide live feed for this site. Warning it's horribly addictive, but also a really neat experience.

www.youtube.com You can find endless horse videos here. There are some great videos of televised competitions, as well as some neat compilations made by the members.

http://vetmed.illinois.edu/petcolumns/index.cfm?func tion=showsect&section=Equine This site of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine has a huge selection of medical articles on horses, many of which make very interesting reading. It also has links to other sections of medical articles on dogs, cats, livestock, and many more.

www.dreamhorse.com Looking to buy, lease, or sell a horse? This site is a great resource, featuring over 50,000 listings, most with photos. Warning: This site is addictive!

http://www.bitsandbarter.proboards74.com/index.cgi - The Bits and Barter Board allows members to post listings of their horse related equipment, books, and household furnishings that they're hoping to trade or sell. Membership is free. With a little patience, you can find some great deals.

www.ebay.com If you are looking for used (or even new) equipment cheap, this is the place to find deals. Even sell off some of your old equipment while you're at it. This is also a wonderful source for horse books and gifts.

www.StateLineTack.com One of the large, well-known horse equipment retail sites.

www.DoverSaddlery.com One of the large, well-known horse equipment retail sites.

Your local Craigslist site is a great place to find local boarding, horses for sale, and tack for sale.

Your local animal rescue site is an invaluable resource. Also find out if your local animal control has a website. Know how to contact the rescue if they don't have a website it's information you'll want to have in an emergency.
