You've been waiting and wishing for years. Crunching at those horrific deadlines, sweating the small stuff for those overbearing bosses and up late stressing for long enough that you've finally made it; You have landed your dream job! Or, at least the interview?! Oh no, more stress. Take a deep breath and relax because if you follow these tips you will be sure to shine and impress!

First off, Google. Even if you know the company and know what the job would probably entail, you can never be too prepared. Search for some information about the history and goals of the company. Make note of facts that are interesting to you or questions you may have. The supervisor and interviewers will always be able to tell if you've don't your homework!

The next thing to do is practice. Think of possible interview questions, or ask if it is possible to get a list of them upfront. Go over the answers you would give and do it in front of a mirror. This will help you with confidence in your answers, which will really show.

The third step is to dress for the job. Think about the position you are applying for. What sort of attire would you wear to work everyday? Would you be required to dress in a suit or a uniform? Is it a more casual atmosphere? Whichever the case dress accordingly. At the most informal of them all however, you should opt for at least black pants and a nice clean shirt. Over dressing by one notch won't hurt. However don't wear a suit if you're interviewing for a jeans and t-shirt job! Just think of what you feel is appropriate. If you're unsure, ask someone who has a job like the on your interviewing.

The night before the big day get a good nights rest. Wake up a little early and eat a good breakfast. Do something before hand that relaxes you. Take an extra long shower or go for a run. Waking up late and stressing out immediately is going to put you in a blur for the whole day. Make sure your clothes are ready and your at the interview 10 minutes early.

Last but not least your first meeting! Simply remember these three things: firm, confident and honest. A firm handshake shows pride in yourself and your work and leaves a good impression on those you meet. Confident posture speaks for itself. It assures you will get peoples attention and they will be more apt to listen when you talk. Be honest with your answers. Think of the ones you rehearsed the night before, without sounding like you've written a speech. Be honest. If they ask you a question and you are unsure of the answer tell them so. An employer usually, above all, will respond to and respect honesty.

Landing an interview is both exciting and nerve racking. The pressures of being competitive and doing well are hard to deal with at times but if you take a step back and use these tips to help you get prepared, you are sure to walk away proud. After all, feeling like you're a star on the interview stage and knowing you did your best is the greatest of all.
