Being a dedicated employee on the job

Dedication starts with believing in what you are doing and putting your heart and soul into making it work. This is a quality that not every person is born with. Some people stay dedicated no matter how small the task as it is in their nature to do so. These qualities are easily recognizable and they stand out as dedicated employees making them indispensible to the company they work for.

HARD WORK - Dedication and hard work are qualities that go hand in hand and a dedicated employee will not be afraid of hard work if the job requires it. He will try and complete the task at hand rather than worrying about how long it will take, looking for ways to postpone it, or trying to pass it on to another colleague to handle.

KEEPING DEADLINES - Completing work on time drives a dedicated employee and you can be sure that whatever task he has been given he will complete it in the time that he has been given. If this means doing overtime or working late hours it does not stop him and you will find him in the office while all others have left at the normal time.

PUNCTUALITY - We all know a colleague at work who shows up at work every day without making any excuses for bad weather or personal problems. He treats work as priority and everything else is secondary. Not only does he show up every day without fail but is also known for his punctuality and time keeping nature. These are qualities that are inherent in dedicated employees and come naturally to them.

INITIATIVE - Dedicated people tackle their work with interest as they want to see a successful outcome of it. They will want to find out more about the job that they do and they will show initiative in whatever they are handling by suggesting new ways of doing things to improve their own and their company's performance.

LOYALTY - As he grows in the company, an employee's loyalty grows too, and you find the dedicated employee not afraid to help out when his help is required even if it is an area he has never worked in before. He will do any task as long as the final result is as anticipated and no job is too small for him if it means there is a better outcome as a result.

COMMITMENT Dedication means commitment in what you believe in and if you enjoy the job that you do and like the company that you work for, then you will show it to them by being committed to their ideals and goals and work towards making them happen.

PROGRESSION - To grow in the company means that you train and keep inventing yourself as the company progresses. You can do this by further qualifications or training and this quality is quite noticeable in those dedicated towards their career development. There will be rewards to reap for employees who show this quality. They will be picked out if there are any openings in the company and their work and commitment will not go unnoticed. These are the people the company prides itself in and most good companies give special recognition to their most dedicated staff through better remuneration packages or promotions.

Dedication is a quality that becomes instilled when you start enjoying and loving the work that you do, if you do not, you will never feel dedicated towards it.
