BrainPipe is a very different game than what we are used to. The graphics are excellent , although there is a sensory overload quality. Those who suffer from motion sickness may not like this game. The illusion of traveling through an extremely colorful, danger filled pipe may cause those gastric juices to flow. The sound that is emanated from the game is an otherworldly type music. Hitting obstacles in the pipe can cause you to lose your life, however game play is very easy.
There are eyeballs on the game start screen which are very well done. Click the appropriate eyeball to begin the game. The player must travel through a pipe attempting to miss the objects and collect the glyphs, by running into them. each level moves a bit faster, which makes it more difficult to negotiate the obstacles. Collect as many glphs as you can before reaching the next level. There are no timers, power-ups or any clicking required in the pipe. Reaching appropriate point levels will award you different levels of awareness. I reached Confusion by level two. The graphics will cause the player's eyes to go buggy and lose a little focus.
Brain Pipe does have elements which may remind older players of the old arcade games. This is not a sophisticated game to play and is appropriate for most ages. Teens and young adults will enjoy the psychedelic quality of the graphics and will enjoy the music almost as much. Those players who were around in the 60s and 70s will definitely get a kick out of this, it may just remind you of one of those "trips" you took.
Overall the game is good and very colorful. Young children and people with motion sickness should probably steer clear. There is nothing inappropriate in the game but it may have a gross out factor for young children. This one is designed for teens and adults who want to reach an out of body experience. This gamer, unfortunately, has motion sickness and has decided Dramamine will not help. Those of you who purchase this game will enjoy it and it is worth the money, if your stomach allows.
