Anxiety quite often goes hand in hand with depression.
Anxiety can be sneaky, and can rob you of some of your happiness.
It doesn't discriminate, and and can affect anybody, at any time.
When you suffer from anxiety, it can be minor, like having butterflies in your stomach, or having the feeling that someone is going to jump out at you whenever you turn a corner. It can also be major, like when it mimics a heart attack or keeps you from doing the things that you enjoy.
There are some good medications available to help with anxiety, but the best thing to do first if you think you suffer from it is to take an objective look at your life and try to determine potential causes. Cause and effect. Like I said in my post on anger, anxiety doesn't just "happen" on its own....it feeds off of something. Those "somethings" are things you can eliminate, rearrange, restructure or reschedule as needed with some time and effort.
Is it a wonder these days that anxiety is on the rise? Drive down the highway sometime and you're bound to see someone simultaneously driving their car, talking on their call phone and eating a cheeseburger. Or maybe you're that person?
These days our children are involved in more things like sports, band, dance, drama club, you name it. That is a good thing, but someone has to get them there and back, and still find time to feed them and make sure they do their homework. All of that on top of holding down a full time job, maintaining a household, then trying to squeeze in time to socialize and have hobbies of their own and keeping a spouse happy.
Any small business owner can relate to twelve or fourteen hour days, just the same as many career people can.
Anxious? Us? Imagine that.
