Put on your thinking caps. This game could make you pull your hair out. This is definitely a new twist on color match games and chains games. The creator has taken the best of all worlds. Graphics are excellent, music is soft elevator type, overall a very stimulating game. Player is given an in depth tutorial, which is vital, all scenarios are played out and explained before game play starts. The easy level was extremely difficult to complete within the time restraint. Medals are awarded throughout when a progress points are reached. There are different game modes, which were locked for the demo.
The player must change color gems to colors that will form chains of gems. The third gem of each chain is a connector for the next color the player chooses. Some levels include color locked gems and bonuses. This is a melding of Chainz, color match and inlay. This is the true brainteaser and will provide hours of hair pulling enjoyment. This gamer is definitely buying this one. Player does not really notice the music, it is very soft and unobtrusive. This game really does not require music due to the brainteaser nature of the game. There are the various bleeps and so on that all games share.
Actual game play is timed and fastpaced. Your goal is to chain as many as possible, connect wherever possible and rack up points. Player must reach a point level to continue on. The option of retry is important, it took me 3 tries to get through the first puzzle. Each puzzle is similar with extras attached. Extra components generate extra points. There are no power-ups, this is a true brainteaser and you must complete the puzzle the hard way. There is an addictive quality, you must continue until you have beaten the puzzle. Spirits of Metropolis will set new standards and players will be asking for more. This game is well worth the money and as mentioned before, will deliver hours and hours of fun. Young children would have a hard time with this game, but teens and adults should enjoy it.
