The Unpardonable Sin

by Kim Saylors

Created on: January 07, 2009

Lots of people like to cite the Bible in ways that are not biblically correct. Who has the right to say if one does not believe the Christian Bible then that one is unforgiven, unsaved. There is one judge and it is not one of my fellow human beings. When Pharaoh would not let the Israelites leave Egypt, did God not say "For this reason I have raised him up, so I could be glorified". Did not Jesus say, "The time of the gentiles had not yet come, when that time be fulfilled, only then will Israel's eyes and hearts be opened". The words of Jesus clearly state that we are all ignorant of who will be in heaven or who will be in hell. He also states only one unforgivable sin, and most people do not even know what that is. A person is not held accountable for what they don't know. So do you really want to know? If you do then keep reading.

Having read the Bible front to back, and back to front many times and having studied to show myself approved unto God, I would have to say I have no right to say anyone is unforgiven or hell bound. We as humans do not choose God; we are chosen by God. We do not call God to us; He calls us to Him. No one can confess Jesus is Lord of their life unless one has the Holy Spirit. One cannot have the Holy Spirit unless God give it to a person. If a person has not been called, who am I to say that person is hell bound? How would I know when God plans to work in that person's life? Did God clue me in on when a person is to be called by Him? No, he did not. The ways of God the Father are too high to attain. My understanding is feeble minded compared to mind of God. Who knows His mind and what He has planned for a person's life?

With all this having been said, what sin could possibly be unpardonable? There is one, and only one. Some have said it is to turn your back on God. This could not be correct. The Bible clearly states the fact that the sheep stray but the good shepherd always knows where His sheep are and does not allow them to stray too far before He gathers them and brings them back to the fold. Others say homosexuality is the unpardonable sin, but this could not be correct either. This sin is no more and no less than the sin of murder or adultery. These sins are equal in standing; one is not greater than the other. They are the same as simply having a grudge against your fellow human. This is why the woman that committed adultery and was about to be stoned to death did not get stoned. No one is sinless. Only one without sin has the
