How I got my size 6 figure after six children!
Finally, after giving birth to my sixth child, I managed to stay calm when a pair of size 10 jeans didn't fit me after a month. It took me 4 previous pregnancies to realise that my immediate post pregnancy figure wasn't stuck with me forever and that time a common sense would see me back in my favourite outfits.
I have six children. Including twins and a Caesarean with my sixth baby
After each pregnancy, I found it hard to believe that I would ever wear any of my pre- pregnancy clothes again. I remember trying on a pair of size 10 jeans about a month after I had given birth to my twins, I couldn't even get them over my thighs! I cried! But twelve months later, I dug out those nasty size tens again. To my absolute amazement not only did I pull them all the way up this time but they fastened with room to spare. At this point I wasn't even sure what I had done right! All I could think of was all the walking I did, I walked everywhere. I had no car at the time. I guess the combination of the weight of the stroller and the stress of the whole shopping events burned lots of calories!
After babies five and six I wanted to get slim but this time I also wanted to improve my health. I needed more energy to keep up with this ever growing family J I didn't bother with any diet or exercise programs though. I have a big hungry family, a business to run and gigs in the evenings so I don't have the time or patience to take long lists to the supermarket, to read everything I put in my basket or to count the calories in every meal that I cook.
This time I did get slim, even faster than before and this time I weighed less 6 months after my fifth child than I did before I was pregnant with him.
So what is the secret? Well, this is what worked for me:
First of all, relax. Your mind is the most important aspect even of your physical health. Don't let your weight, food or your body become your focus. Just live and enjoy your life and love yourself. Compliment yourself. I could write a whole article on how you can impact your entire being with your words. Get around somebody who is encouraging and supportive. For me that has been my husband. There has not been a day go by when he hasn't looked me in the eyes and told me how beautiful I am.
Now some practical tips:
Smaller meals more often are so much better for you. That's a very basic principle which alone works wonders.
I basically started eating foods that God intended us to eat and skipping
