I am watching the news right now and getting frustrated day after day of hearing the same torn truth about the current situation in Palestine. I have been hearing day after day that it is Hamas movement fault that Israel is attacking civilians in Gasa strip area. I have been hearing for ten days now that Hamas movement is the one responsible for all the killings that are taking place in Gaza. So, let me recap here: Israeli army is killing Palestinian civilians but Hamas is responsible for those same killings? WHO is killing WHO? Who is oppressing who? Who has been provoking who since 1948? Well, if you read the history of the region you will know that in 1948, Jews from around the world came to settle in Palestine because they believed that that was their "supposedly holy land" From that period, started a long term conflict, which we know as the "Israeli-Palestinian" conflict. Now, from this very brief introduction, who colonised who? Who was living in Palestine before who? I will let everyone take a simple guess.
Unfortunately what we hear in the media seems completely far from the truth. The American media is spreading lies after lies regarding the horrors that are happening to innocent people in Palestine. They are telling us that because Hamas movement dared to resist the Israeli army by defending itself, then what is happening now is well deserved. They are telling us that Palestinians should not resist to their oppressors and because they did so they deserve to be massacred, bombarded, and killed. The image that they are sending to us is that Muslims in Gaza strip don't have the right to react and to defend themselves and if they do, they are called terrorists. I wonder who are the true terrorists? people who kill women and children with no mercy, or people who try to free themselves and free their land from Jewish colonies?
That is the way the American media is shaping the views of many ill-informed people about the situation in the Middle East. What we all should know is that the war happening in Palestine was well planned for and well prepared months ago with, unfortunately, the benediction of corrupt Arab and European presidents that we all know too well. What we should know is that this war was going to happen anyway whether Hamas retaliated in the past or not, or whether or not Hamasmovement even existed. The killing of innocent children and women in Palestine has always been going on for decades now because that is the way colonist oppressors act. And because that is the way it is, Palestinians will always deffend themselves with very few weapons and a LOT OF courage and bravery. And because I am a mother, I will say this: My condolences to every mother who lost a child or a grand child during this unfair war in Palestine. And I will end this writing with this divine verse: After hardship always comes joy and peace. Ameen.
