Poetry: Fear

by Lisa L. Danford

Created on: January 07, 2009

Strength of Fear

We are those who
desire servitude
mending of maladies
easing the pain
feeling vicariously

Viewing through windows
while guilt and shame
grief and loss
weigh like an anchor
drowning the soul

When truth approaches
barriers hackle
building a fort
of mortar and flesh
to hide and seek

So let me help you
unburden your hurts
mend your heartaches
live your dreams

But don't touch mine
