The release of GTA IV and several other games won't effect student test exam results for several reasons. The first reason is that GTA IV comes during the exams. In other words, they will already be studying for the exams and that most of the exams will be over and done with by that time. Also, contrary to popular belief video games aren't the spawns of Satan that parents put them as. GTA IV has a higher chance of giving students something to look forward to, therefore increasing their study habits and will to get good grades on exams. Having something to look forward to also reduces that amount of stress students for preparing for the exams. When that happens they will have a chance of remembering what they studied for when the exams arrives on their desk in the morning. Plus, using that strategy, they will be able to think more clearly when doing the exams compared to be stressed out over the exam. GTA IV helps start conversation when calling friend that end up becoming a study before the day of the day. I see this often, as people begin talking about popular video games, they will also transverse into talking about the different kind of subject that will be on the exam.

Second, the idea that video games will negatively effect the results is absolutely absurd. That idea is created by controlling parents that always wants to find a reason on why their children aren't studying for tests. Government officials also put a negative image on games to get a parent's vote since that will please parents. Instead of trying to blames games like GTA IV and Halo, people should find the actual cause of poor exam results. Whether it would be bad teachers, bad work ethic, or just isn't good at taking tests. Whatever the problem is, there is a small chance it is purely video games. Some of the smartest people I know play a lot of video games, but yet get high exam results. Video games are just another victim of parent scrutiny to get their kids to get A's in their classes.Movies and TV shows also undergone parental scrutiny. Here is my question, why do parents also have blame the most popular thing out there as the source of their children's academic short comings? Here is my answer, perfection. They are trying to blame everything else in the world but themselves. If they just watched over their children and helped them with the work they had, there wouldn't a huge issue if video games effect exam results. It just too ridiculous on the parents own mental blindness. I admit that on some occasions, it is because of playing video games. But overall games like GTA IV and Halo should not effect a student's exam results.
