As a brand new president takes the helm this year and this nation sets sail for a whole new presidential term, many questions are swimming through the minds of companies and investors alike.A major question being, what industries will benefit from the Obama presidency? And,what companies within these industries are likely to thrive? These are certainly excellent questions and ones that I have every intention of answering.
First of all, what are the present facts? Answer, the fact is, Obama stands in favor of alternative energy, biotechnology, and stem cell research. Let's familiarize ourselves with these industries, starting with alternative energy.Of course, you probably already are quite familiar with this topic since it's been the subject of countless political discussions, but let's take a refresher course just for good measure. Alternative energy is energy taken from sources that do not deplete natural resources or damage the environment. Biotechnology is a type of molecular biology that researches the use of microorganisms that can be applied to certain industrial processes ,for example, generic pharmaceuticals. Stem cell research, another well known subject, is the study of stem cells and their application in medicine, for instance, aiding in the repair of spinal injuries.
Concerning alternative energy, Obama proposed to spend $150,000,000,000 over the next decade to pick-up the pace in developing hybrid vehicles and renewable energy. Companies like Advanced Battery Technologies Inc. (ABAT), a company that produces PLI batteries for multiple electronic devices (cell phones, laptops etc.) and electric vehicles, would probably be a pretty good investment in the field of alternative energy. As for biotechnology, one reason Obama is a supporter is because it makes medications more affordable. Amgen (AMGN), a popular company that's been involved in cost effective cellular and molecular biology based treatments for over twenty-five years, is a biotech company that would very likely receive Obama benefits.Last but not least on our list is stem cell research. An excellent stem cell research company is BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics Inc. (BCLI), their primary focus is the development of adult stem cells taken from the bone marrow of the patient to treat spinal cord injuries or illnesses, such as Parkinson's Disease or Lou Gehrig's Disease.
Okay,so we've asked the questions that so needed to be asked and provided the necessary answers to those inquiries, let us take a few moments to review. Question Number One: Who would benefit from Obama in the White House? Answer:Companies involved in alternative energy(the green movement), biotechnology(such as inexpensive medications), and stem cell research(which can be applied to various ailments, like Parkinson's). Question Number Two: What are a few of these companies? Answer:Advanced Battery Technologies Inc. (ABAT), Amgen (AMGN), and BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics Inc. (BCLI). All of which are companies very likely to thrive with our current commander and chief.
