Poetry comes from the heart it's the deepest feelings and emotions which the poet puts into prose. During earlier years a teen-age female could be found writing what appeared to be notes during a biology class, but this was not the case. The teen found poetry as a way to escape all the burdens which possessed her during those difficult teen years. A way to express the deepest emotions and feelings which she felt no one else could possibly understand. Through poetry she would build walls inside of her head to keep the two legged beast away which brought distress into her life. Edgar Allan Poe wrote one of his most famous poems entitled "The Raven" to express his grief at the loss of his wife.
One of the most fascinating aspects of heart felt poetry is the words used to express feelings and emotions. Some individuals may read a poem and interpret it one way until they may later discover the writer's real motivation for the pose. By reading such poems as "The Raven" an individual can feel the grief which Poe expresses in a very poetic way. Through the use of a variety of repetitious words and phrases a reader will be able to feel his brokenness and sense of worthlessness without his beloved Lenore. Those words were born in his heart, a broken one at that.
