Alright, let's do it! This is going to be your year, you're finally going to buckle down, eat right and lose some weight. You're not going to eat junk food anymore, and you'll finally start working out again! Except there is only one problem, you're married.
That brings us to the most proven method of weight loss. Get a divorce. If you can look back in your life when were you the fittest? When you were single of course! Being single will increase your motivation to lose weight, but when combined with the pressure to show up your ex, the total effect is magnified. The result is a fitter and trimmer you. While it has yet to be proven by scientists, it is a widely accepted theory and is know as "The Spite Effect". Note this effect works best if your divorce is justified, such as a cheating spouse.
What about those out there that are already single, or unfortunately happily married. How can these people lose weight? While there has been no weight loss method proven as good as "The Spite Effect", there are still changes you can make in your life that will prove beneficial to losing weight. The important thing to remember is that no method will work without the proper motivation. Instead of starting by looking outwardly for a magic drug, we should start by looking inwardly. This can be easily accomplished by getting some quite time alone and asking yourself. Why am i not motivated? What will it take to get me to exercise? Can i stop myself from drinking pancake syrup? Should i be ashamed of eating hamburgers in the bathroom? Is it alright to hide food in my fat rolls?
After you have managed to ask yourself these deep inner questions, and now have ways to battle the demons that have kept you fat for so long, you can improve your chances of success, by keeping track of your progress. A very simple and valuable tool to accomplish this, is something my wife calls a "Food Diary". While i have never bothered to ask her exactly what the purpose of the "Food Diary" is, I think it is fairly obvious. A "Food Diary", is a place where you can get out your deepest feelings about food, with out fear of being judged. A place where you can talk about your secret crush on ice cream or those sexy dreams you keep having about Orville Redenbacher.
This is very important because it will allow you to keep track of your progress as well as make you aware of your weaknesses. This in turn will keep you focused on the grip food has on you, and not allow you to fall into denial. Which could potentially cause you to run back into Orvilles sexy buttery arms. And a night of carnal passionate delights, followed by a morning of deep shame and regret.
Whatever your horrible horrible secrets though, with a little effort you can lose weight and make this finally your year of change. Never let yourself forget that weight loss starts in your heart, not through a series of plans or exercise regiments. But if there is nothing else you remember from this article remember, a cheating spouse is a weight loss gold mine!
